1. What is KCM?

KCM is the abbreviation for Kelas Tuisyen Cikgu Mariyam. It was first established in Cheras area in 1990s’, and started to span its wings in other parts of Klang Valley. Currently, KCM operates in 10 locations, mainly in Cheras, Bangi and Gombak areas. Please visit our website to get the full details: www.kcm@edu.my.

2. Is KCM a registered tuition centre with Akta Pendidikan Malaysia 1997?

Yes. The tuition centre is registered under Pusat Tuisyen Sinar Bijak. It is known as KCM as Cikgu Mariyam is a very popular teacher among the students.

3. Who are the owners / directors of KCM?

Cikgu Mariyam (Puan Mariyam) and her husband, Cikgu Nazim are the directors of KCM. Cikgu Nazim who is by profession a chartered accountant, has initiated the vigorous expansion of KCM. He holds many posts in several organizations, works as a consultant to a number of government link corporations and private institutions. At KCM, Cikgu Nazim is the Senior Advisor and the President.

4. Who is Cikgu Mariyam?

Cikgu Mariyam is the Principal for the entire KCM group of tuition centres. She was a banker in her early twenties, became a teacher after a while and finally started to operate her own tuition centres with the guidance and assistance from her husband. She has vast experience in teaching. She is also a writer, speaker and consultant.

5. Why must I send my child (children) to KCM? 

At KCM, Quality Education is the utmost focus and concentration. We provide excellent tuition classes for your child to understand his / her studies. Our previous UPSR, PMR and SPM exam students’ results speak for itself. At the same time, we would like to nurture your child to be polite, hard working, dedicated, smart, fluent in communication skills, confident and morally excellent.

6. Who are the teachers teaching at KCM?

Our teachers are well trained. They are young, experienced & qualified, energetic and very close to the students. As parents, please drop by at least once a month to find out about your child’s progress, character and attitude towards studies. The teachers are more than happy to assist you. Many of our teachers are book writers, examiners, counselors and subject advisors. We have full time and part time teachers.

7. Do you follow school syllabus? 

Yes, we do. We always update ourselves with the school syllabus endorsed by the Ministry of Education. In our yearly budget, huge portion is allocated for latest books and study materials. 

8. How many students in a class?

Primary and lower secondary classes are limited to 18 students per class. We do run classes of more than 18 per class especially for PMR, Form 4 and SPM. This depends on specific teachers’ time availability, their popularity and parents’ humble request.

9. What other specialties of KCM? 

    1. KCM conducts so many seminars, workshops and training sessions throughout the year. These programs are conducted in KCM centre’s as well as other participating colleges, universities and schools.
    2. Our seminars and workshops are exam focused, effective studying skills, fun learning programs and even study tours.

10. Do you conduct exams at KCM?

Yes, we do. Exams are important and conducted twice a year; in March / April and July / August. The results are pasted on notice board for parents review.

11. What else should I know about KCM?

    1. KCM is very particular about students’ academic progress, attendance, discipline, punctuality and character.
    2. Any student who misbehaves like smoking, bullying, playing truant, making unbearable noise, not respecting teachers and any other misconduct will be given a first warning letter. At the same time, the parents will be informed.
    3. We have excellent facilities: Free Wi-Fi, computers, air-conditioned class rooms, free seminars and workshops and many more.

12. Besides tuition classes, what else do you have?

Besides tuition, we provide English lessons for all levels of students (primary to tertiary levels).Our English lessons are based on Singapore and UK syllabus. We have group as well as individual classes. We also conduct private classes (one teacher to one student). Additionally, we have classes for MUET, TOEFL, EST, A-Levels and others upon request.

13. How do you maintain and enhance the quality?

Maintaining quality and at the same time enhancing it, is definitely a challenging task. However, with the help and cooperation of our senior management team and on going evaluation process, the task is always achievable. We study and put into actions the suggestions and advice given by parents, teachers or even by the students.

The Role of Panel of Advisors

Our panel of advisors assists us in maintaining and enhancing quality of our education. They have international and local exposure in educational industry. They give opinion on how to improve teaching and learning skills, evaluate our study materials and provide constructive feedback for improvements.
